Tradition
UNB has a vibrant and joyous portfolio of traditions. The biggest and most fundamental one of them is, hosting lots of events! Orientation events in the past revolved a lot around pageantry, formal teas, fancy dresses, etc. Although we have retained the quirk that accompanied these events (as evident in pictures displayed here), Orientation and other events at UNB have evolved to accommodate diverse self-expression and inclusivity.
Formal Dances have been a tradition at UNB. Clubs and societies often hosted dances, including the Saide Hawkins Dance hosted by the Ladies Society, the Hunters' Hop hosted by the Rod and Gun Club, and the Veterans' Dance hosted by the Veteran's Club, which donated the money raised to New Brunswick regiments that were actively overseas. Today dances are hosted by each residence.
