This image was captured with afternoon lighting in the Richard J Currie Centre. It is inspired by the self-portrait works of Vivian Maier.

This piece is inspired by Ken Rosenthal’s A Dream Half Remembered, which I originally interpreted as being quite ominous and dark. However, in the process of capturing and editing my own scene, I now see a great range of emotions reflected as mystery plays naturally with whimsy, soft focus symbolizes fond recollection, and dark shadows don’t inspire fear but rather curiosity.

This photo is inspired by “A Woman’s Intimate Record of Wyoming in the Early Twentieth Century” by Sarah Blackwood; in particular the image titled “Sweet Peas, 1907.” I took this image as a way to explore photography of the past and experiment with a distinct inspiration and subject.
