Pulp Serials

Pulp serials are magazines published in the twentieth century dedicated to affordable circulation of science fiction and fantasy fiction. Pulps of science fiction had their heyday between the 1920s and 1950s. They typically sold for 20 or 25 cents US per issue, or $2.00/ $2.50 for a year's subscription. Many of the most popular early science fiction and fantasy stories and novels were originally serialized in pulp magazines; characters we still know today made their debut in such pages.

The UNB SFF Collection includes hundreds of original printings of important pulp serials, including those featured on this page. The pulps are a treasure trove of early fiction and also give insight into advertising of the time.
